Mechanical and Electrical Design Services

Our core business is mechanical, electrical and public health engineering (MEP) for the built environment. Our sector specific experience allows us to work within a variety of projects ranging from Office fit out, retail, museums, multi-residential through to the education sector incorporating schools, college and universities.

We employ and develop some of the most talented engineers in the Industry. Our reputation on delivering commercially aware design supported by our Director level delivery team reinforces our ability to generate long standing relationships with our clients.

Energy and Sustainability Engineering

Our approach to sustainability design includes the analysis of passive solar shading, daylight simulation, thermal modelling and energy modelling. We utilise specialist software analysis which assist our Engineers with Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) to develop economic and robust design solutions.

  • Part L Building Regulation Compliance SBEM/BRUKL
  • Dynamic Thermal Modelling
  • Daylighting Calculations
  • Production of DEC and EPC, Domestic and Commercial
  • Production of Domestic SAP calculations
  • Production of computational fluid dynamic simulation

Commissioning Management

We have experienced professionals that offer a professionally managed, efficient service in all areas of M&E commissioning. We have a proven track record and actively encourage strategic considerations during all design stages ensuring a well organised operation and successful completion and handover of a project.

Carrying out a Commissioning focused review at the design stage of a contract is important as it defines the required commissioning strategy and ensures that the commissioning process/activities have been clearly and logically integrated into the overall design and program of works

BIM – Building Information Modelling

At Design MEP the majority of our projects are completed in Revit.

We have extensive experience in BIM (Building Information Modelling), working closely with the design team and end user clients.

Our collaborative working approach allows us to work simultaneously with the project architects, structural engineers, landscape architects and interior designers. The culmination of this process provides the site team with a clash free fully detailed design, reducing the level of abortive cost and construction delivery time.
